RENFREWSHIRE LADIES' COUNTY GOLF ASSOCIATION

I hope in Renfrewshire some of our members can  get a few scores in like this one!

 

Helen Faulds (Douglas Park) and Carol Fell (Ranfurly Castle) went to Portugal for a golfing holiday on Sunday 18th March. They flew with Globespan who left their golf clubs in Glasgow because of overloading. This is happening more frequently ---- SO ALL GOLFERS BEWARE !!! --- 25 sets were left in Glasgow Helen got her clubs 48 hours later on the Tuesday and the Fells got their clubs on Wednesday afternoon on their return from the golf (after hiring and then sharing clubs) --- 72 hours later. On the Homeward journey to Glasgow today everyone on the flight had their golf clubs left at Faro !! --- Approx 50 sets of Clubs --- So PLEASE BE AWARE of the problem and make sure you are covered in your travel insurance for the extra cost of hiring clubs etc I THINK WE MUST LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT ALTHOUGH YOU PAY £30 TO BOOK YOUR CLUBS ON A FLIGHT (which we did in October 2006) --- --- THIS IS WHAT GLOBESPAN SAY :May we refer you to our Terms and Conditions which clearly states: 'Sporting Equipment Sporting equipment is carried on a limited release basis, i.e. entirely at your own risk for loss, damage or delay. IMPORTANT Sporting equipment will be carried subject to load and as such we cannot guarantee space on the flight on which you are booked for such items. In the unlikely event that space is not available, the equipment will be sent on the next flight with available space.' SO ALL GOLFERS BE AWARE However, I strongly feel that perhaps we should let more people know of the problem so if you have something to say then please email me at webmaster@rlcga.com and perhaps I can let the newspapers know of the problem

PS: Carol met Ken and Maureen Mitchell (Cathcart Castle) in Vilamoura in Bar Nautica --- and had a wee chat !!

	The other place to look while I am away is the new Golf Club New Page (Top RHS Link) which also now has a domain name www.westscotlandladiesgolf.com where you can submit : Your golf club returns to the Glasgow Herald with a copy to webmaster@rlcga.com which will then be placed on the site Enter your news for your home club eg Mail on Sunday Results, Open Days, Grannys, Births, Advertise,etc etc

I thought I would let you all know I have set up a "weblog"  better known as a "blog" at www.westscotlandladiesgolf.com for golf news from golf clubs around the West of Scotland. There is also a direct link on this website, if you click on the above link on the RHS that says Golf Club News
The idea of the site is that any news from golf clubs could go onto this web area. eg someone in your club may have had a hole in one or has just become a granny ! etc. Also this is an area  to advertise your own Golf Club Open Day and have a downloadable entry form placed on it --- You will see I have 2 Open Days on so far.
 Plus, whoever is sending in their Glasgow Herald Golf Club Return by email, can also send an additional copy  at the same time to me at webmaster@rlcga.com
